Just before the top of Mount Gerania in Loutraki, built on the side of the mountain, stands the monastery of Saint Patapios, constructed in the 11th century. Guests can admire the wonderful view overlooking the Corinthian and the Saronic Gulf, and also the Byzantine frescoes preserved in the cave where the hermit saint used to live and where his relic still lies.
After the total relaxation from the visit to the monastery the trip continues to the foot of Gerania, where the mountain meets the blue waters of the Corinthian Gulf and creates a magical setting! This dreamy picture gets complete by the Melagkavi Cape, where one of the largest lighthouses of Corinth stands. The endless deep blue surrounding you and the one of a kind view of the cliffs will take your breath away, and then you will discover the ruins of the famous Temple of Hera, which dates back to 800 BC.
Our trip ends at the famous Vouliagmeni Lake. One of the most beautiful lagoons of Greece with fine white sand and surrounded by a natural pine forest. It is connected to the Corinthian Gulf through a narrow channel, big enough for only fishing boats to cross. The waters are crystal clear and reflect the green landscape. On shore you can enjoy coffee or food, try your skills at some water sports or swim in the lake’s tranquil waters.
At Lake Vouliagmeni you will have free time to swim and have lunch.
