Known since ancient times for its naval force and for being the first capital of the independent Greek state, Aegina is located in the center of the Saronic Gulf and is the perfect Greek island to visit. Greenery, Byzantine chapels, picturesque villages and neoclassical architecture create a beautiful view, completed by the ancient Temple of Aphaia and the modern church of Agios Nektarios, a miracle-worker saint of the Orthodox Church.
